Recently, yours truly traveled to Houston, Texas for a couple of days to visit with family and to enjoy the sights and sounds of this great city. Initially, I was going to drive, but my sister suggested I take the Vonlane motorcoach. Now I had heard of Vonlane when it first started service in Texas a couple of years ago, and I had heard positive reviews. I decided to give it a try, and I’m happy to report that the positive reviews were right on the money. I made my reservation online at vonlane.com, selected my route ( roundtrip from Fort Worth to Houston ), and submitted payment. The trip is nonstop.
On the day of my departure, I caught the Vonlane coach at the Downtown Fort Worth Hilton in front of the JFK memorial. The coach is sleek, elegant, and gray in color. Besides the driver, there will be 1 or 2 onboard attendants on your trip. One of the attendants will check you in. There are 22 first-class seats on a Vonlane motorcoach. The seats are incredibly comfortable, and they do recline if you want to stretch out.
Complimentary snacks (peanuts, cookies, popcorn, potato chips) and beverages were served once the trip got underway. An hour or so into the trip, we were served a meal, either a sandwich/wrap or salad. After the meal, the onboard attendant came back through with hot towels for our hands. Snacks and beverages are offered throughout the trip. Also, if you need a pillow or blanket, those are available for the traveler as well. If you insist on working during the trip, Vonlane motor coaches offer free Wi-Fi and tables.
Wondering about the price of a ticket, they’re in the same price range as an in-state Southwest Airlines ticket. In my opinion, worth every penny. It’s an enjoyable, stress-free, and relaxing way to travel. I will definitely be traveling with Vonlane in the future.
Remember “thisisyourbestyear”. Vonlane is not your mothers’ bus.
