It’s about to be summer, and we all wish for the same thing–we want to do something that we’ve never done before. We want to try something new. Well, just do it.
Cost is always a factor in what we do, and sometimes as women of a certain age, we may be on a fixed income. There are ways that can cut the cost in just about a half or more. Try some of the deals you find online with such sites as Groupon, Living Social. Amazon Local and more.
I absolutely love these sites, especially for trying things that I have never done, or things that I know that I only need a certain number of visits to accomplish. They have everything from food, to hotel stays, to exercise and more.
My girlfriends and I have gone Segway touring for half the regular cost. We’ve gone ziplining. I even had one for horse back riding. I like Groupon because if something happens, and the service is cancelled for some reason, they credit your account.
While on a trip to Chicago, I did a Segway tour with another couple who told me that what they paid for two people I had paid for one person to do the tour. They informed me that when they scheduled a trip, they always checked with these (Groupon, Living Social, Amazon Local) sites to see if there was a deal they could use. So I have begun to do this also. It’s really simple–when you book your trip, you then go to the site of your choice to see if there is anything that strikes your interest such as a restaurant that you would like to visit or a museum and such. You then call to make sure you can get the reservation, then you get your deal–it saves you money, and you can now do more on your trip.
I’ve gone to day spas, restaurants, tours, museums and more while on trips. While at home, I’ve taken Sushi making classes, done wine tasting, yoga, salt therapy, kickboxing, massages and even gotten my house cleaned. My girlfriends want to go kayaking, but so far I am not the one, but who knows.
Remember “thisisyourbestyear”. Try something different–try an adventure!
