Cold Brew Coffee–Let the Angwenyi’s Educate You

Have you ever thought that you knew what something was, and then found out you were completely wrong?  Well, count us in that number.  We thought we knew what cold brew coffee was. It was simple, it was coffee poured over ice, with added dairy and sugar. We were so off base.  The dynamic duo of Tweety and Patrice Angwenyi (husband and wife) had to educate us on the essence of cold brewed coffee.

They are the owners of the cold brew coffee shop–HustleBlenz located on the corner of Rosedale and Evans in the architectural wonder that reminds most of railway cars. These two former educators may not be in the classroom, but they are still in the business of education.  The couple convinces doubters that cold brewed coffee has a different taste, but it is one they will like. These two coffee enthusiasts even roast and grind their own beans. They stress the health benefits of cold brew and the use of nondairy products. They even inform the doubters that cold brewed coffee can be made into hot coffee–nope, you don’t pop it in the microwave.

In an effort to become an integral part of the community HustleBlendz has sponsored many events that have been held on their covered porch. Tweety, yes, that is his name and his wife Patrice are coffee connoisseurs who are eager for you to give them a try.  The weather is great, so why not try something new?  Remember, “thisisyourbestyear”, the hustle is sold separately.

I have never tried cold brew coffee. I just thought it was regular coffee poured over ice cubes. I will be sure to give it a try and if I am every in their area will visit Tweety and Patrice!

I just purchased a cold-brew coffee pot. I am going to try to make it. Thanks for reading and remember “thisisyourbestyear”.
