He Taught at the Worst School in Texas

As an educator, mother of two and a woman of a certain age this article by John Savage caught my attention. As a parent whose children attended what is considered a poor achool district, Everman Independent School District, I know that money is not the end all. I know that my children were prepared to go on to higher education by wonderful caring teachers and staff. I also know they had two hard working parents who worked with the school and also educated them outside of the classroom. Take a look at this article written by a teacher who seemed to care. What are your feelings on this subject?

Remember “thisisyourbestyear”. The children are our future.

I graduated from Everman Senior High School in 1981 and I believe the education at that time was superb. I and many of my classmates have gone on to accomplish substantial career and higher educational goals. So I am not in agreement with this person’s comment. Perhaps if the parents were more involved then perhaps you would see improved results within the school district.

Hi Sonya, I think the comment was about the article that was linked not about Everman. Both of my children graduated from Everman. Everman has proven that it is not about the money but more about teachers and parents working together.

The article is about a school in Austin that was rated the lowest in the state of Texas.

My family members are Bulldogs for life.
