Sometimes it is Spiritual

I recently discovered it was revival time at Mt. Zion CME church, so I decided to go.  As soon as we arrived, I felt something stir within me.  I had been inside the building several times over the past 30 years but never for revival.  This time, it was to nourish my spirit.

Walking around the church and reading the cornerstones that tell the story of the past was an experience that connected me to my ancestry. The cemetery holds the remains of relatives who left lasting memories.

Inside the church, the singing and preaching filled my heart with warmth.  Looking around, I could see my mom, aunts, great-aunts, uncles, and more.  My heart was full, and I felt content.

Remember “thisisyourbestyear”. Taking care of yourself isn’t easy, but it’s essential.  Don’t forget that your soul needs care too.

*Happy Birthday Day, Mt. Zion Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.  You have nourished the soul for 152 years.
