Hi, I’m Maricia Johns 

Life changes as we mature, but that’s not a bad thing.  I’m here to write about things that pertain to women who have reached a certain age, or who plan to reach a certain age.  Sometimes it will be funny, sometimes it will make you think.  It will always be informative.

I live in the Fort Worth/Dallas area, and write for the Ft Worth Black News on such topics as lifestyle, education, and just about anything else.  Some people call me wife, mom, sister, cousin, soror, professor, teacher, lifestyle consultant, soror (Zeta Phi Beta Sorority) and more, but one of my favorite names is “Honey”.  That’s the name my grandson calls me.  See I told you life does not stay the same and neither do names.  I embrace being a grandmother, but never wanted to be called “Granny”.  I embrace being a professional educator.  I embrace life, and each morning when I wake up, I thank God for all of this and more.  I hope that you will enjoy this journey.  I hope that you will join me, give me suggestions, and tell me how you do some of the things that I write about.

This journey is not about me; it is about us.  It is about us talking, sharing, giving suggestions, just having fun because “this is your best year“.
