Women’s History Month–Inspiring Us

womens-history-month

Two women that continue to inspire me areĀ Geraldine Ferraro, the first woman to be nominated to be vice president of the United States, and Shirley shirleychisholmChisholm the first African-American to be a major party candidate for president of the United States.Ā  Neither of these women won their political races, but I can just image what they had to go through not only from men, but from women who believed they should stay in a “woman’s place”.Ā  They paved the way.

We all have women who have inspired us in someĀ form or fashion, tell us about them.Ā Ā Ā

Remember “thisisyourbestyear”!Ā  Let’s not only celebrate, let’s honor women all year.

Because of those that paved the way, we are able to do whatever we desire.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Don’t forget to tell us about the women who have inspired you.

My Mom, daughter of a coal miner, who built airplanes in WWII, & a wonderful mother, is #1. Then, OMG Virginia Woolf, Eleanor Roosevelt, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Madame Curie, Amelia Earhart, Annie Oakley, etc. ‘And ain’t I a woman?’
