I was wondering what I would write concerning Black History Month for “women of a certain age”. Well I found a beautiful essay written by the beautiful Ms. Abbey Lincoln over 40 years ago. It makes a very powerful statement. Where are we today?
It starts with “YOU”!
It is never too late or for that matter too early to decide and create. It is about you.
What’s Making You Look Older?
I’m not going to say I agree with all of the information that is given in the link, but it does give one cause to think. I don’t wear eye shadow, and haven’t heard the word rouge in years. I think I can probably fit into my youngest daughters clothing, but would I–not no, but hell no. There is a 30 year age difference, and it does matter. Enjoy the reading.
As a woman of a certain age I know that everyone deserves a childhood. Remember when Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans had dinner parties with Mr. Moose, Bunny Rabbit and Dancing Bear attending? Give your children and/or grandchildren a childhood to remember.

My cheese tray journey (glass work) started here https://thisisyourbestyear.com/2014/01/25/designing-birthday-party/ Take a look at the journey.
The journey ended here. My finished cheese tray and knife. I will not quit my day job, but I do love it. Remember “thisisyourbestyear“.

I was asked to write on the night The Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan Show, and how it affected my neighborhood, friends and more. Take a look at my response. How was yours?
